Powertool Industrial Manufacturing

Center Units:

Unit of water and environment
The centre pays special attention to water research because it is aware of the seriousness of the shortage of water resources. It is necessary to provide alternatives and appropriate scientific solutions to this problem; thus, the centre has conducted many pieces of research with more currently undergoing implementation, such as: “the reuse of water, an effective style to overcome water shortages and guides to use it”, “an initial study about the impact of pilling on the underground water’s flow and movement in the Ibrahim Valley at Makkah”, “a study about leakage from the water distribution network in Makkah”, “a project to establish a station to purify underground water in ALmosfalah”, “a proposal for a water plan for Makkah in the next 30 years”, “intensification of water vapour from the air” and “ biological and physiochemical scanning for drinking water resources in Makkah”. The centre has registered two patents for two devices that were developed to extract water from humidity and to improve the internal atmosphere inside buildings. This unit cares about research that serves the following:

•The development of alternative water resources
•The rationalization of water use
•The re-use of water
• The quality of drinking water
•The protecting water resources from pollution
•Environment impact assessment
• The quality and efficiency of water distribution network in Makkah
• The revent leakage of networks

Technical unit
This unit aims to encourage creativity, innovation and scientific awareness in addition to the localization of technique. The center cares about vital aspect which is the Electric power researches because of its important influence in our lives. so it has adopted many important projects and research projects, such as a comparison of power generation economies between countries that are similar to Saudi Arabia and share the same resources and an experiment to measure the energy levels of water freezing and snow melting. quot;.
As part of his interest in solving the problem of water shortages, the centre has cooperated with the Foundation of King AbdulAziz and his Men for the Gifted to sponsor an award in the field of water technology and played its part in supporting the research and development in this vital field. The value of this award is 7,500,000 riyals, honoring the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the founder of the centre at the Regional Conference for talent in 1427-2006.

Endowments unit
This unit is interested in research that teaches:
• The management of endowments by the companies’ system
• The development of endowments management systems as the most important mechanisms contributing to the development of the private sector.
• The investment of endowments.

The information and scientific media unit’s most important functions are:
• The formation of an informatics advisory capacity
• The formation of a link between the centre and scientific researchers.
• Raising the awareness of science.
• Creating databases to serve the researchers.

Some of the Centre’s Research:

First, research in the field of water and the environment:
This research focuses on areas such as: the rationalization of water use, the reuse of water, finding new resources for water, protecting water resources, the quality of drinking water, preventing leakage from water networks and evaluating the environmental impact. The most important studies carried out by the centre in this field are as follows:
- Underground water resources in the south of Makkah: the centre has conducted a scientific study on underground water resources in Almosfalah in the south of Makkah because it is the lowest area in the city and underground water descends to it from different valleys. The general aim of this study was to discover the underground water in Almosfalah and to measure the volume of underground water. This study was conducted in the areas located in the south of Almosfalah, where the Ibrahim Valley is located, and it started from AlKaKiah in the north to the Ibrahim Valley and the Arafah Valleys – the Numan and Malakan Valleys – in the south as well as the area called Al-Husseiniyah.
- Leakage of water from the public network in Makkah: this study aimed to examine the leakages in the public water network in Makkah and to estimate the loss of water in various neighbourhoods in Makkah resulting from the leaks. A number of the network’s areas were tested according to scientific bases. The study located leaks in many areas that have reached high rates.
-The effect of pilling on the flow and movement of underground water in the valley of Ibrahim in Makkah: the study generated an imaginary position for the behaviour of underground water before and after the existence of foundations. Recommendations were made for the foundations and maintenance of the hydrogeological status in the region.
- Biological and physiochemical scanning for drinking water resources in Makkah: the validity of drinking water has been tested in the central area, in hotels, residential buildings and purification stations, for commercial water and wells in Makkah.
-The health of the environment and the use of drainage water for irrigation: the study aimed to evaluate the physical, chemical, biochemical and biological indicators of drainage water before and after the treatment that occurs in the treatment station for drainage water in ALokishiah in Makkah in addition to the irrigation water used to irrigates trees and soil in Arafat, Muzdalifah and Makkah. Furthermore, it aimed to study health information about the workers in the drainage and irrigation field.

Second: Researches in energy field:
This field aims to encourage and develop creativity and innovation and to localize technology. The most important research in this field is as follows:
-The production of units to extract fresh water from the air: the centre has conducted several studies in this respect and has produced several units to extract fresh water from air humidity to obtain a good result that contributes to adequate water quality at a low cost. These units are called F1, F2 and F3. Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Qadir Fakieh owns the rights to that idea and owns its patent.
-The measurement of energy rates produced during water freezing and snow melting: this research focused on designing a laboratory experiment in which a block of pure water was frozen and melted to determine the amount of energy used during the two processes and the value of the energy produced during the freezing process in a fixed-sized bowl....

Third, endowments researches:
The cente’s researchers are interested in the development of endowments management systems because they constitute the most important field in the private sector that contributes to development, in addition to the interest in endowments investments by managing them using companies’ systems. The most important studies are the following:
Managing the endowments according to economic bases: this research discussed the recent trends in establishing an endowment and managing its assets in order to achieve the maximum benefit for the endowment. It indicated the experience of the Company of Makkah for Construction and Development in endowments management according to economic bases.
Fourth, the quality of medicine and food, which is one of the fields that the centre is concerned with:
The centre is interested in conducting a scientific study to establish a laboratory to check the quality and safety of food and medicine and to check their effectiveness and suitability for use according to the scientific and practical standards approved by international organizations across the world. Thus, this scientific edifice is continuing in its scientific and developmental research, which was launched from Makkah by loyal men from this country to reflect in the end the effective role that should be played by the private sector in supporting scientific research and development, and to meet the general objectives of the development plans. Also, it emphasizes the overall concept of charity, which should help human beings to live a good life and to deal with their problems, by providing scientific solutions: here is the role of scientific research and development. That is the noble idea of this scientific centre.
The growing demand from professors, researchers and educational institutions to cooperate with the centre and the wonderful response and encouragement given to the centre by public figures and officials in this country indicate that the Fakieh Center for Research and Development is heading in the right direction. This provides great motivation to continue the research and development work, including the requirements of perseverance with the study, experimentation, the clarification of the causes and ills, the application of scientific theories and the innovation of solutions to achieve the desired result. We are looking forward to continuing our tasks by asking Allah to help us and we hope the researchers will continue their research to enable the centre to achieve more accomplishments in research and development based on the support given by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince.
